BUILDING
ENCLOSURE CONSULTING SERVICES
Since 1974
CCI provides
technical support in the Design, Construction, Testing, and Investigation of
Building Enclosure Systems, assemblies, and components. This includes curtain
wall systems, storefronts, windows, glazing, masonry, and stone and metal
cladding. CCI can especially benefit your company
with the following services:
Building enclosure systems design services are provided for new construction or the
restoration and remodeling
of an existing building which includes; cost analysis
of various wall and window systems and roofs, complete custom system design or
evaluation, and on-site quality control observation or inspection.
- IN-FIELD TESTING & INVESTIGATION
In-Field testing and investigation are provided on buildings
with air infiltration, water penetration, stone and glass breakage, or other system deficiencies.
Observations
are performed in accordance with the following criteria:
- American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA)
- American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
- American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
- BUILDING FORENSIC & DIAGNOSTICS
CCI
analyzes building
enclosure systems and components to assess existing
conditions, identify defects, determine cause, origin and
extent of damage or failure from a variety of natural causes that include fire, flood,
wind (hurricane, tornado, and straight line), wind driven rain, hail snow
loading, and
lightening strikes. CCI
also evaluates building design, construction,
maintenance and material defects. We
have expertise in pre-cast concrete, masonry, stone cladding, doors and
windows, curtain wall glazing, skylights, roofing, and sealants.
CCI provides depositions and trial testimony regarding building
damage and personal injury related to building design, construction, and maintenance,
as well as natural event phenomenon causes and issues.
- MAINTENANCE & DUE DILIGENCE
EVALUATION
A Building Enclosure should be evaluated for condition and performance prior
to a property sale or purchase. A comprehensive report is provided
identifying
any problems or deficiencies found during the condition survey. The report
will enable a buyer or seller the option of repairing the existing
problems or deducting the cost of the remediation. Detailed recommendations
are usually also provided with solutions and procedures. CCI
strongly
believes that in order to evaluate the building enclosure, a limited condition survey using
powered platform staging is required. CCI
will rarely perform evaluations
without the ability to access the exterior wall of the building.
- REMEDIAL & RESTORATION WORK
The independent inspection and analysis of the building enclosure system and
remediation project management with professional contract documents can eliminate ineffective costly
remediation work. Unqualified
contractor may repeatedly return to fix the same problem, inconveniencing the
building occupants and causing unnecessary expense. CCI
provides remediation project management of the building enclosure systems, produces
contract documents of specifications, details,
and building rules and regulations, conducts project bidding, assists in
contractor selection, and provides contract administration and on-site quality
assurance observations during the course of the work. This approach reduces
overall project time, and problems during the rework period, as well as provides
the longest available warranties in the industry.
- POWERED STAGING ASSESSMENT
CCI provides consulting for
the operation, maintenance, and certification of is provided for the power platform rigging and outrigger system utilized for exterior
building maintenance that includes davits, tiebacks and other fall protection
equipments required by OSHA. This involves annual inspection, periodic testing, and certification
of the equipment for compliance with the safety requirements as outlined in the following specifications:
